TRYING SO HARD: i had forgotten

There’s a line in “The Sound of Music” where, after hearing his children sing for the first time since his wife’s passing, Captain Von Trapp’s heart is softened and he tells Maria: “You’ve brought music back into my life. I had forgotten.” That line has been running through my head a lot lately.
